The highly patronised ceremony was held on Saturday, January 11, 2019, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

There were a lot of performances from top African stars including Burna Boy, Joeboy, Fireboy and Diamond Platnumz.

But what went viral on social media were Ghana’s Stonebwoy and Kuami Eugene’s performances which attracted zero reaction from the ‘unmoved’ crowd.

Despite the energetic performances from the two top artistes, the crowd refused to be moved – a move many Twitter users claim is the habit of Nigerians.

Stonebwoy performed his hit song, “Shuga” (which features Beenie Man), among other songs and Kuami Eugene, on the other hand, performed his breakthrough single, “Angela”, but the crowd were not moved.

“Nigerians just don't know wassup... That's their behaviour and it's not surprising that their so called self-acclaimed giant of Africa country is regressing. No wonder!!!” user @Ramsbery_Ramsey noted.

A Nigerian Twitter user ‘@kennyfly77’ rebutted: “How do u expect Nigerians to vibe wit you, when you sing what they don’t understand..We even preffer patapa self..What stops you from bringing Sark, Becca and King Promise?”

Another user ‘@Osagyefo77’ stated: “Looking at this video there’s only thing that pop up, they wanna support just Naija acts. My Ghana 🇬🇭 people, it’s about time we also emulate such attitudes o. Especially when their acts come over here let’s also exhibit the same to them.”
