President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Peter Abum Sarkodie as the Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Peter Abum Sarkodie is currently a Senior Lecturer in Analytical Environmental Chemistry and Environmental Science Education of the University of Education, Mampong Campus in the Ashanti Region.

He was the former Member of Parliament for Asante-Mampong on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2005 to 2009.

He was also a Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee for Science and Environment.

Mr Sakodie obtained his First Degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast and Masters’ Degree in Organic Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
