I envy NPP’s loyalty; NDC must learn from them - Ebi Bright
Defeated National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central constituency, Ebi Bright has entreated fellow members of the party to remain loyal to the party and avoid parochial interests that are inimical to its chances.
According to her, as the DNC plans to reorganize and restrategise after losing the 2020 presidential election, the culture of loyalty must be embedded in the strategy, adding that the ruling New Patriotic Party is better at it.
“I don’t envy them (NPP) at all but a few things I envy is their loyalty to their direction. They don’t make it about the individuals. They don’t have to like me. They are looking for what I bring to the table for the advancement of the common good. Our party needs to be the common denominator. So let’s tell that to all the people holding an old grudge,” she said.
Ebi Bright reminded the NDC that inasmuch as the poor performance of the ruling party can make Ghanaians reject them for the NDC, that alone is insufficient, so the party must improve on a lot of things to become more appealing to Ghanaians.
She bemoaned the feeling of exclusion in the party, a situation she said threatens the party’s advancement.
She urged the NDC leadership to create a mediation and reconciliation platform to address all the lingering issues and prepare the party for 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
“We are getting a new crop of NPP faithful who will express disgust at the performance of the party but somehow find them attractive enough to associate and identify with; all in the hope that they will become better…Are we increasing our numbers in the NDC at the rate that ensures that we are coming out on top into the future?” she quizzes.
