Bashir Hayford: Len Clay Stadium has been cursed

The head coach of the league champions believes his side’s poor run of form has spiritual connotation

Bashir Hayford led AshGold to win the Ghana Premier League last season, but the champions have been struggling to get to winning ways, having won 2 games in 11 league matches.

The former Kotoko and Medeama coach has been under intense pressure from the teeming supporters of the Miners, hence has requested for his three months accumulated leave to enable him have some rest.

Despite, the general agitation of the supporters of AshGold, calling for the head of Bashir Hayford for the club’s poor show, he thinks the problems that have engulfed the club might be spiritually.

“Right after opening day win against Medeama at home a die-hard supporter of the club cursed the team at the Len Clay Sports Stadium that we would find it difficult to win at home.

“I pleaded with him to rescind his decision, but he failed to comply. He played active role in the club last season. Since he cursed the team we haven’t won any home game; we have drawn 3 and lost 2,” he told Sikka FM.
