Cartoon character got a goalkeeper banned for six months and here’s why

Iran goalkeeper has been banned for six months after he was spotted in what is described as a SpongeBob SquarePants clothing.

If Luis Suarez feels done by in almost all his bitting bans plus the alleged racial abuse of Patrick Evra, the Uruguay international should come again on the topic of what deserves a ban.

A picture of the 29-year-old goalkeeper who has three caps for Iran was spotted on the Internet ahead of a game for his club Persepolis.

The Iranian Football Federation’s morality committee gave the reason for Socha Makani’s ban as his clothing.

The penalty according to ISNA news agency was for ‘inappropriate conduct’ in an Iran country which has strict clothing laws.

Sosha Makani’s photo was posted on social media on Friday, May 6, 2016 with the country’s media comparing the dressing to cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants.

Makani who played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil can appeal the ruling but may not be help by his arrest in January after pictures of him in the presence of women were leaked.

Iran has strict rules against that too.
