Kotoko deny Richard Kingson interest

The Porcupine warriors have rubbished reports linking them to the former Black Stars goalkeeper.

Richard Kingson exhibited great technique of goalkeeping when Kotoko walloped the Stephen Appiah led World Stars last week in the Unity game played in Kumasi.

The former Black Stars goalie after the game stated that he would like to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko before ending his football career due to their enthusiastic supporters.

There are media reports indicating Kotoko have responded to the interest expressed by Richard Kingson and are on the verge of sealing a deal with him.

However, the management of the 23-times champions of Ghana league has denied any such interest, stating the club have no goalkeeping issues at the moment to press the panic button.

“We have not considered signing Richard Kingson now nor in the future. Any reports linking Kotoko to Kingson are false, because the coach hasn’t expressed such interest, so as management,” George Kennedy, the Operations Manager of Kotoko told Pulse Sports.

“Opoku Nti would also say the same, because he would have told me if he has thought of that. Meanwhile at the moment, don’t have any goalkeeping issues, because we have about 4 good goalpers making selection difficult for the coach, so why should we sign another,” he quizzed.

The second round registration window of the Ghana Premier League was closed last month, ahead of the start of the second half of the season on 25 June, 2016.
