A look at Ghanaian players to watch out for across Europe this weekend

A look at Ghanaian players to watch across Europe this weekend

Agyemang Badu, Udinese

The last time Udinese played against Juventus in a Serie A match, Agyemang Badu  was forced to leave the pitch with an ankle injury in August. The Ghanaian twisted his ankle after going in for a challenge with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

This time around, Badu will be hoping for an injury-free match against Max Allegri's side who has been keeping an eye on the box-to-box Udinese midfielder. It will surely be fireworks at the Stadio Communale Friuli on Sunday, with Juventus, after failing to win their first three games, have now won their last nine and are firm favourites to extend their run when they visit struggling Badu's side.

Andre Ayew, Swansea:

One of the in-form Ghanaian players in world football right now, Andre is the highest top scorer for Swansea on seven goals following last Wednesday’s goal against Sunderland.

This weekend, the Swans meet an impressive Watford side whose attack will be spearheaded by the high-flying Nigerian forward Idion Ighalo—expect goals…and plenty of them!

Jordan Ayew, Aston Villa

Aston Villa remain eight points adrift of safety, though, and are huge underdogs to claim a second-straight win versus a Leicester side level on points with leaders Arsenal at the top of the table.

Jordan Ayew and his side have won only four of the 19 Premier League match ups with Leicester (D8 L7), but they have won three of the last four at Villa Park (W3 L1).

It will however be interesting to see how Jordan will fare when he comes face-to-face with one of the strongest defenders in the Premier League.

Mubarak Wakaso, Las Palmas

The Ghana midfielder must demonstrate that he can find some more consistency to his game this term. The 25-year-old has struggled to feature in La Liga but on Wednesday, Wakaso produced a man-of-the-match performance against Elche in the Copa del Rey.

He may be called upon to contribute added creativity and defensive cover in midfield against League leaders Atletico who were also hit with a 12-month transfer ban on Thursday. It will be an all midfield action as Wakaso will lock horns with the likes of Koke and Gabi of Diego Simeone's side.

Rahman Chibsah and Afriyie Acquah:

Fourteenth meets eightenth in Italy as Torino welcome Frosinone to Stadio Olimpico di Torino. The match will likely feature two Ghana internationals, with Black Stars defensive midfielder Afriyie Acquah set to come up against holding midfielder Rahman Chibsah.

Bothe teams are yet to taste victory in their four serie A games.
