Jared Leto Just Emerged From a Silent Retreat to Learn About the Coronavirus
On Monday night, actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, Jared Leto, revealed that he was unaware of how much the world had changed in recent days, after spending nearly two weeks at a silent meditation retreat in a desert.
We were totally isolated," the Dallas Buyers Club actor wrote on Instagram. "No phone, no communication, etc. We had no idea what was happening outside of the facility ... Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One thats been changed forever."
Leto mentioned that since leaving the retreat, family members and loved ones had been reaching out to him, filling him in on worldwide events relating to the coronavirus.
During the time the actor was away, was declared a pandemic and national emergency, shifting the way people live their everyday lives globally. In recent days, cities including Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Milwaukee, and San Francisco have limited access to or closed "non-essential" establishments, including restaurants and bars, to prevent large gatherings.
The current cast of Big Brother Germany has also remained in the dark about recent events surrounding the coronavirus since filming began on February 6 . (On Tuesday night, they will be informed on live television . )
"Sending positive energy to all," Leto wrote to his followers on Instagram. "Stay inside. Stay safe."
