There's a lot more to Russell Crowe than Maximus Decimus Meridius, but the former Gladiator star reminded us that he's still a killer after he swiftly shut down a Twitter body-shamer in a fashion reminiscent of his time in the Colosseum.

The Huffington Post published an article that outlined a debacle where Crowe clapped back at one troll with a dagger of wit and good humor.

After a photo surfaced of the actor kicking around a rugby ball in Sydney in shorts and a tank top, a side-by-side was posted on Twitter of the photo and a shot of him from his Gladiator days.

One Twitter user commented that shock jock Howard Stern had made a reference to the photo, saying that Crowe was working hard "to stay thin and in shape."

Crowe's response?

He's 52 years old and still kicking around a rugby ball. No Gladiator abs? No problem. Maybe Stern could come over and polish Crowe's Oscar, just to clear up any hard feelings. But either way, looks like Crowe is just fine.

While Crowe's comment left us smiling, it also reminded us that the actor isn't going to put up with body shaming of any form, and neither should anybody else.
