Ofosu Ampofo hasn't been invited by the police - Sammy Gyamfi

The Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has debunked reports that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has invited<a href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/politics/cid-invites-ndcs-ofosu-ampofo-over-leaked-audio/x5dcrqe" id="14e47647-892c-45b1-be36-6d706d21dc78"> Samuel Ofosu Ampofo</a>, Chairman of the NDC.

He said Ofosu Ampofo has not been invited by the police for comments he allegedly made to NDC supporters in a leaked tape circulating in the media.

“I am putting it on record that our Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has not received any letter from the CID department," he said on Okay FM.

Sammy Gyamfi also charged the media to be fair in their reportage of issues in the country.

However, a statement signed by the Deputy Director-General for the Director-General, ACP George Tweneboah said, "The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has intercepted an audio message circulating in both traditional and social media on Wednesday, 27th February, 2019, in which you are alleged to have made some comments that have some security implications."

According to the letter, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo is expected to report at the CID headquarters on Thursday, February 28, 2019
