Ryan Reynolds Just Confirmed Deadpool 3 Is Officially Happening at Marvel
That is, until now. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa on Christmas Eve, Reynolds confirmed that the "merc with a mouth" will be returning in Deadpool 3 now that Marvel have full rights to the character.
"Yeah, yeah. We are working on it right now with a whole team," he said. "We are over at Marvel now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It's kind of crazy, so yeah, we're working on it."

Reynolds didn't elaborate as to whether Deadpool will be officially part of the on-going MCU. If he is, that means he will get to interact with other iconic Marvel characters such as Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man (with whom he has teamed up many times in the comics). That could also position Deadpool 3 as a way of introducing some X-Men characters through the back door.
Regardless, it's probably safe to assume that Deadpool's third standalone movie will include at least one knowing joke about having that Disney money now. And with the Deadpool franchise well and truly under the House of Mouse banner, it'll be interesting to see whether Reynolds is able to exert the same amount of creative control over the direction of the movies something which led to Tim Miller departing after the first movie.
