Training drill for Customs recruits sparks online outrage (Video)

A video that has surfaced online on a training drill for new recruits of the <a id="7baebcf9-1725-4b3e-a60f-f5acd8ae0418" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/ece-frontpage/in-suhum-ceps-impounds-two-taxis-with-same-registration-numbers/dl1chcp">Ghana Customs, Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS)</a> has sparked an outrage.

The video which shows recruits kneeling and squatting with their luggage has drawn the ire of Ghanaians on social media.

Many people have questioned the essence of such gruesome drills for Customs officers as their job entails more brains and less force.
Confirming the incident, the Assistant Commissioner of CEPS in the Volta Region, Junior Appiah-Warden told Accra based Joy News that the video was taken at the Academy at Kpetoe in the Volta Region.
He said the exercise – known as the ‘Pre Arrival Exercise - is the very first of many the recruits will go through, as part of training activities at the academy.

A similar session in March 2018, led to the death of one of the cadets.
