1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary

2 8-oz strip steaks

2 Tbsp black peppercorns, crushed

1/2 lb haricots verts (french green beans), washed, ends trimmed

1 garlic clove, thinly sliced

1 shallot, finely chopped

1/2 cup brandy
