Stephen Ross, the billionaire owner of the Equinox and SoulCycle fitness clubs, is planning a fundraiser for President Donald Trump this weekend. The fundraiser is set to take place in the Hamptons, and as The Daily Beast reports, the priciest tickets are going for $250,000. That ticket includes a private table and photo with Trump, with the proceeds for the fundraiser going towards Trump's re-election campaign.

Ross and Trump have been friends for years. Here they are at the 25th Great Sports Legends Dinner in 2010:

Ross' holdings include the Miami Dolphins, the Hard Rock Stadium, and the Time Warner Center. According to Forbes , Ross is also chairman of Related Companies, which is the company behind the $25 billion Hudson Yards project in New York City.

Ross also owns Equinox Fitness Clubs, which includes other brands like PURE Yoga, SoulCycle and Blink Fitness.

There has been backlash to Ross' Trump fundraiser online, with some Equinox and SoulCycle members saying that they will cancel their memberships and boycott the gyms. Celebrities including Billy Eichner, Chrissy Teigen, and George Takei have also expressed their displeasure at Ross' fundraising efforts for Trump, with Eichner adding that he also canceled his membership.

Hey @Equinox - whats your policy for canceling memberships once a member finds out your owner is enabling racism and mass murder? billy eichner (@billyeichner)

Just contacted @Equinox to cancel my membership after many years. Money talks, especially with these monsters. If its too inconvenient for u to trade one LUXURY GYM for another, then you should be ashamed. (No disrespect to the many wonderful employees at my local Equinox). Bye! billy eichner (@billyeichner)

everyone who cancels their equinox and soul cycle memberships, meet me at the library. bring weights christine teigen (@chrissyteigen)

Kenny Stills, wide receiver for the Dolphins, also questioned Ross' pro-Trump stance.

Equinox and SoulCycle released a joint statement in which they distanced themselves from Ross.

Neither Equinox nor SoulCycle have anything to do with the event later this week and do not support it. As is consistent with our policies, no company profits are used to fund politicians, said a statement from the brands' PR firm, according to HuffPost.
