It's official: Rambo V has been given a hard R rating by the Motion Picture Association of America. This means we can probably expect Last Blood to spill plenty of, well, blood. Sylvester Stallone, who has played John Rambo since First Blood back in 1982, is excited about the hard R, taking to Instagram this week to share some stills from the new movie and promise fans that "what's coming is unlike anything you've ever seen."

Great day! We got our HARD R Rating today! Whats coming is going to be unlike anything youve ever seen... ...Death is coming John said A post shared by Sly Stallone (@officialslystallone) on Jul 30, 2019 at 8:02am PDT

"Death is coming," Stallone wrote in the caption, which some are interpreting as a hint that Last Blood will, as implied in the title, end with the death of Rambo, signalling the end of the franchise as a whole. Of course, it could just mean that Rambo will be doling out death to the bad guys, who in this case are a cartel of human traffickers.

"When longtime family friend and estate manager Maria informs Rambo that her granddaughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster," reads the film's official synopsis . "What ensues is a violent descent into hell as Rambo uncovers a sex-trafficking ring. He teams up with a journalist whose half-sister has also been kidnapped and must deploy all his skills to save the girls and bring down a vicious crime lord."

"Ive lived in a world of death," Rambo says in the trailer. "Ive watched people Ive loved die. Some fast with a bullet. Some, not enough to bury. All these years Ive kept my secrets. But the time has come to face my pas." We're going to go out on a limb and say that this day of reckoning won't leave any bad guys standing.

Rambo V: Last Blood will be released on September 20.
