According to her, the US government will not hesitate to support Ghana to deepen its democracy and good governance.
Madam Sullivan was speaking to journalists on the first day of her three day working visit to Tamale in the Northern region.
She said Ghana has been exemplary when it comes to promoting peace in other parts of the world.
The US Ambassador added that the US government is ready to help Ghana fight political vigilantism and deepen the country’s justice delivery system, peace and security.
Vigilantism in the country has been rampant in recent years, with several cases of vandalism and abuse attributed to these groups.
The ruling NPP is affiliated to the ‘Delta Force’ based in the Ashanti region, ‘Kandahar Boys’ based in the Northern region and the ‘Invincible Forces’ based in Accra.
Meanwhile, the NDC's vigilante groups also include 'The Dragons' based in the Brong Ahafo region, the ‘Hawks’ and 'The Lions' based in the Eastern region.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo yesterday revealed that he has instructed the Attorney General to submit a legislation before Parliament to deal with the phenomenon of political vigilantism.
