Noah Centineo Officially Joins 'Black Adam' Cast

Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as antihero Black Adam for a while, and their excitement was only heightened when it was revealed that Johnson would be portraying Black Adam in a standalone film that will be released in 2021. And while we don't know who else will be in the movie, it was recently announced that Noah Centineo will be joining the cast in a super cool role.

As Variety reports, Centineo will play Atom Smasher, a character with the ability to change his size, strength and durability by literally manipulating his atoms, as his name suggests. Centineo is known for being in Netflix hits like To All the Boys Ive Loved Before, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and Sierra Burgess is a Loser.

In November 2019, Johnson shared a photo of a mock up of him as Black Adam, and he talked about how much the role meant to him. In January 2020, Johnson re-shared the photo, and he let fans know that he was starting to train for the role :"So it begins. Kickin off 2020 training extremely hard for my upcoming role as BLACK ADAM. This ones in my blood."

He then posted some selfies from the gym , and his arm day routine let everyone know that this wasn't going to be your ordinary superhero film. "The hierarchy of power in the#DCUniverse is about to change," Johnson wrote. "#NewEra #AntiHeroTraining."

Black Adam currently has a release date of December 22, 2021, and principal photography is expected to be in early 2021.
