Former NDC MP reveals US gave Ghana $300k for Gitmo 2

Speaking on a panel broadcast Saturday, the former North Dayi MP said the stay of the two ex-detainees does not cost the state, since they are being catered for by the US government.

The Vice Chairperson on parliament's Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee made the revelation on Citi FM’s news analysis show “The Big Issue.”

His comments come on the heels of a ruling by the Supreme Court for the Akufo-Addo administration to either rectify their stay in Ghana by seeking parliamentary approval or deport them.

Meanwhile, one of the detainees, Bin Atef, is said to married in Ghana.

It has, however, emerged that Bin Atef’s wife's name is Haia. She is a Yemeni. They married about two and a half months ago in Ghana.
