The Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development Boniface Abubakar Saddique has said that the residents of Nima are soon going to be beneficiaries of a well-developed community.

In an interview with TV3 he said: “For now, the best thing to do is to ensure that the place is beautified and for us to bring better sanitation management within the area to reduce some of the problems they encounter.”

He said the Nima community will also see the establishment of a Senior High School (SHS) under the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry.

The Madina Member of Parliament said his Ministry has a medium and long-term plan to engage landlords and members of the various Zongos for a discourse to decide what is best for them.

“We will have a proper discussion with the people,” he stated, “if they agree, a memorandum of understanding will be signed, and investors will put up high-rise buildings in the area.”

He promised to use the money allocated to his ministry judiciously in order to help the Zongo communities in the country,

He further noted that his ministry is putting measures in place to control crime and ensure security in such areas. He called on other ministries and government agencies to collaborate more with his ministry to achieve the development agenda.
