Per the new arrangement, both parties have reached a compromise regarding the separate holding of the funeral rites of two late Dagbon Kings from both the Abudu and Andani Gates.

He said he has no interest in imposing a chief on the people of Dagbon.

“I have said on many occasions, I am not a Dagomba and, I, therefore, cannot be an Andani or Abudu. I have no candidate for the office of the Ya Na. That is a matter for the people of Dagbon", he said.

His only interest, he said, is to see the area flourish and prosper in peace, as the choice of who becomes the next Ya Na is the sole preserve of the chiefs and people of Dagbon.

The President said this at a meeting with the Asantehene-led Otumfuo Mediation Committee handling the Dagbon chieftaincy stalemate.
