Minority to question Foreign Affairs Minister over Libya's slave trade

The Minority in parliament is demanding answers on whether some Ghanaians were involved in the matter.

Scores of African migrants are reportedly being sold in open slave markets in Libya.

In a footage released by CNN from Libya, young men from sub-Saharan Africa are seen being auctioned as farm workers.

Libya has been in chaos since the 2011 Nato-backed ousting of Muammar Gaddafi.

Hundreds of young sub-Saharan African men have been caught up in the so-called slave markets.

Many have since condemned the development, but officials in Libya have denied the claim.

Here in Ghana, the Minority, in an urgent question filed by North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa wants the Foreign Affairs Minister to clarify if some Ghanaians have been caught up in the situation in Libya.
