Suspect behind gruesome murder of Assemblies of God pastor arrested

The police have arrested the key suspect behind the murder of the senior pastor of the Central Assemblies of God Church at Tema Community 4 in the Greater Accra Region.

The late Rev. Dr. David Nabegmado

Rev. Dr. David Nabegmado was killed when he was leaving his office to the main church auditorium to deliver a sermon.

Church service was on going when he was attacked and stabbed to death.

The pastor's nephew, Francis M.Nabegmado, who allegedly committed the murder and one other person have been arrested by the police.

The latest development was confirmed to the media by DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah, the Public Relations Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command.

He also confirmed that the murder weapon - a knife - which was used to stab Rev Nabegmado , a bottle containing alcohol and a box of matches were retrieved from the suspect.

The deceased nephew has been living with him until November this year when he brought to the mission house a deity; something that triggered a misunderstanding between them.

Rev Nabegmado consequently asked his nephew to pack out of the mission house because worshiping gods was not acceptable in a Christian home.

According to 3news, sources close to the family say the issue was resolved between them by some relatives, Francis was not allowed to the mission house again.

Rev Nabegmado left behind five children and a wife.
