Uber driver beaten 'unconscious' by 3 Policemen at Sowutuom

Three policemen have assaulted an Uber driver at Sowutuom, a suburb in Accra.

The attack, according to reports happened on Sunday, December 16, 2018.

In a video which went viral on social media, it shows the three police officers trying to arrest the driver of a blue Suzuki Alto, who is said to have tried to overtake other cars.

The driver, who tried to resist the arrest, was dragged out of his car by the officers, leading to a fracas between them.

In the video, one Police officer was shouting on the driver to step out of his car and the driver also hesitated.

A lady passenger in the car who tried to calm the situation was hit with a slap by one of the police officers.

The lady passenger who goes by the handle @Belalynch narrating the ordeal on Twitter said the police officers sprayed pepper into the driver's eye to subdue him.
