President Mahama has condemned critics who suggest that the driver who foiled a robbery operation at Cantonments does not deserve a house as reward.

Mahama justifies rewarding 'brave' taxi driver with a house
The taxi driver rammed his car into the motorbike of two robbers – Abaliku Sannie, 35, and Oko Quaicoo, 30 – who shot at a sales girl of the Koala Supermarket on her way to deposit sales at the bank.

President John Mahama had subsequently pledged to give a house to the taxi driver for his bravery.
The Vice-President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, disclosed this when he hosted the taxi driver, Nana Yaw, at the Flagstaff House on Monday.But, some have argued that the reward is baseless. A legal scholar, Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare, feels the initiative of the government is laudable, but could be a recipe for disaster."Driving your car into someone is a crime, even if the person is a suspected criminal. As tempting as it is to be seen to be endorsing what the Driver did, I strongly believe it is error for the President to reward it,” the US-based Ghanaian law professor posted on his Facebook.
But, addressing the media on Tuesday, President Mahama said "In every country, people who go beyond their comfort zones to show bravery needs to be rewarded. It is rare these days for people to come out of their comfort zones to do what the driver said," he said.
