62-year-old landlady fined GH¢2400 for failing to provide dustbin for tenants

The Madina District Court has fined a 62-year-old landlady of two women captured on camera <a href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/local/wash-africa-zoomlion-join-forces-to-rid-nima-of-filth/srq4ly5" target="_blank">disposing refuse</a> on the road during a downpour in Accra.

The landlady, Hawa Mohammed, was penalised for failing to provide waste bins for her tenants.

She was fined after she pleaded guilty on two counts of breaching section 56 Act 851 of the Public Health Act 2012.
She said the incident happened in her absence as she had been admitted at the hospital.
The court also issued an arrest warrant for the two tenants who have absconded after a formal complaint had been lodged at the Madina Police Station.
