The striking nurses of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital have indicated that they will not return to work even though the Health Ministry has provided some medications and money to the hospital.

A nurse and a member of the hospital’s communication team Emmanuel Febiri explained that at a meeting with the National Labour Commission they agreed on some items to be provided by the Ministry before they return to work.

Nurses at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital declared an indefinite strike effective Monday, October 31 following what they call government’s failure to provide the facility with the basic logistics needed to carry out their work effectively.

According to the nurses, attempts to get a lasting solution to their problems have proved futile.
