Court issues bench warrant for arrest of Menzgold Directors

An Accra Circuit Court has issued a warrant for the immediate arrest of <a id="a5760f68-f5a1-48e6-a224-68d96e915ac2" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/local/menzgold-boss-nana-appiah-mensahs-life-under-threat-pro-reveals/lx58rs9">Menzgold Ghana Limited</a> CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah.

The warrant to arrest which was signed and issued to the police in respect of four main directors of Menzgold had warrant number 01/19, 02/19,03/19 and 04/19.

The warrant required the police to locate and arrest immediately four persons; Nana Appiah Mensah, Rose Tetteh, Benedicta Appiah, and Abigail Mensah wherever they are. 

Rose Tetteh is his wife while Benedicta Appiah is his younger sister and Abigail Mensah also his younger sister.

They are to be arrested owing to their various roles in the founding and operation of Menzgold Ghana as registered at the Registrar-Generals.

The court warrant documents, according to reports stated their offense as "Defrauding by false pretense contrary to section 131 of 29/60" for which reason they were wanted.

The warrant stated to the police: "You are hereby ordered in the name of the President forthwith to apprehend the said Nana Appiah Mensah and produce him before court".

Separate warrants were issued for all four.

Several customers of the gold trading company are agitated and while some have resorted to demonstrations to retrieve their money.

Meanwhile, Ms Amanda Clinton, the lawyer for some of the aggrieved clients said its entire clientele base is about 60,000 and not 1.8 million.

She said the company also held up to $200 million of its clients’ investments within its five years of operation.
