Menzgold suit against Bank of Ghana, SEC dismissed

An Accra High Court has dismissed a writ filed by gold dealership firm, <a id="33554425-8c08-4080-94a5-43a1db58db4e" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/local/menzgold-boss-nam-1-escaped-through-unapproved-route-security-expert/3gd6rtv">Menzgold Ghana Limited</a> against the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC.

Menzgold Ghana Limited filed a suit against the BoG and SEC last year.

The suit stated that Menzgold is demanding "an order of perpetual injunction to restrain the first and second defendant it offices, servants and agents from interfering with the plaintiff business activities or further acts of disobedience and non-compliance with law by publishing any such derogatory notices."

The gold firm owned by Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1 has been in the news for what the Bank of Ghana cautioned the general public not to deposit money at the firm.

This caused a media war between the regulator and authorities of Menzgold.

However, the court on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, issued a warrant for the arrest of NAM 1, Rose Tetteh, Benedicta Appiah, and Abigail Mensah.
