Vanessa Hudgens admits Selena Gomez didn't "really want to see" Justin Bieber at the Met Gala 2015, but insists they didn't avoid him at the event.
The 'Spring Breakers' star, Vanessa Hudgens, tried to distract her co-star, Selena Gomez, who split from the 'Where Are U Now' hitmaker last October after four years of dating, from his presence at the star-studded event in New York City earlier this month, but insists they didn't go out of their way to ignore him.
Asked if she helped the 22-year-old beauty avoid her ex-boyfriend, the 'Gigi' star said: "I mean, not really. She's one of my best friends and you just want to have your girlfriend's back, so that's what I did. We didn't, like, try to avoid him or anything. I mean, no one really wants to see your ex-boyfriend."
The duo still had a great time at the prestigious ball.
Vanessa told 'Watch What Happens Live': "We had a lot of fun. I sat with Janelle Monáe and Bangs--just such incredible artists who are the most beautiful kindred spirits. Just amazing souls. I was so happy."
A source previously revealed that Selena and Justin, 21, "exchanged some words" at Rihanna's Met Gala after-party.
But Justin spent most of the night "dancing and having a great time with his friends."
The insider added: "He hung out with [Kendall Jenner] and that crew a bit as well."
The singer later said the 'Come & Get It' hitmaker "looked gorgeous" at the event.
