Over 50 shops at the Kumasi Central Market have been razed down by a wild fire in the early hours of Sunday.

The fire, according to reports happened at French Line, a subset of the market.

It is estimated that millions of Ghana cedis has been lost by traders in the inferno.
Officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), who were at the scene said they would collaborate with firefighters to investigate the incident.
Police were deployed to the scene to prevent looting while firefighters fought the blaze.
