Ghana Police Service promotes 2,155 officers

The Ghana Police Service has promoted two thousand, one hundred and fifty five (2155) of its personnel in various ranks.

The promotion which took effect from the the 1st of January has eight Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), who have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOP); one Superintendent of Police promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police.

It also includes seven Deputy Superintendents of Police promoted to the rank of Superintendents and 114 Assistant Superintendents of Police promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police.

The promotions, according to the Ghana Police Service, are administrative and in line with the officers satisfying provisions in regulations 37 of the Police Service Regulations 2012 (C.I. 76).

The Service also had 243 Inspectors promoted to the rank of Chief Inspectors; 719 Sergeants promoted to the rank of Inspectors; 1,020 Corporals promoted to the rank of Sergeants; 34 Lance Corporals promoted to the rank of Corporals and nine Constables promoted to the rank of Lance Corporals.
