David Duncan - We miss Jackson Owusu

David Duncan is not happy with his strikers and confirms the club are missing the injured Jackson Owusu

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a successive draw in their outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture against AshGold at the Baba Yara sports stadium.

The record Premier League champions hardly created goal scoring chances, and David Duncan believes his team are erratic in front of goal.

The former Hearts of Oak trainer feels that they were hard done by as they lacked composure in front of goal, and were in haste to slot in simple chances that came their way.

“We were very erratic in front of goal. My players didn’t exhibit composure in front of goal,” Duncan said in a post-match press conference.

“There weren’t too many clear cut opportunities in the game but on the whole we didn’t get the result we were looking for. The boys raised their game today from the Medeama game and I hope they can build on that.

David Duncan also believes his team is yet to get into the competitive season mode.

“I think is a psyche issue. They don’t seem to have full season mode yet and we need to work on that aspect otherwise it could get worse. Games against Ashgold have never been easy so can’t say I’m disappointed with the result but feel we could have won.

“I think we also miss Jackson Owusu. He was the fulcrum of the midfield and he was a good partnership with Nyame but his injury means we had to sort of rebuild,” Duncan further explained.
