<p>A 30-year-old <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/portia-gabor-recalls-being-told-a-pregnant-woman-should-not-read-the-news-2025033022350161654">pregnant woman</a>, Susana Fosuaa Agyeman, tragically lost her life on Friday, April 4, after an <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/fuel-tank-driver-attacks-man-sleeping-in-tank-cage-with-machete-video-2025040517393404764">articulated truck</a> carrying wood struck and killed her in Noberkow in the <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/ec-burns-faulty-ballot-papers-for-ahafo-and-volta-regions-video-2024112116440921887">Ahafo Region</a>.</p>

<p>The accident occurred around 4:30 PM when the truck, registered AS 636-14, reportedly failed to stop in time, running over the woman moments after she exited a taxi. Her body was mutilated by the impact, with her unborn child and internal organs exposed. Her remains were gathered with a shovel and taken to the morgue.</p>

<p>An eyewitness, Williams Asare, who was nearby when the accident happened, recounted:</p>

<blockquote><p>We were seated at the Indomie vendor’s stall when we heard a loud noise. A speeding articulated truck came down the road and blew its horn once. At the same time, the pregnant woman got out of a taxi, and we shouted to her to move. She tried to step back but fell to the ground. The truck couldn’t stop and ran over her, causing a terrible accident.</p></blockquote>

<p>Susana’s mother, Afia Fremah, was devastated by the loss, calling for support for the deceased’s three children. Afia Fremah herself is medically unfit, unabling her to take care of Susanna’s children.</p>

<blockquote><p>The truck crushed onto my pregnant daughter, causing severe injuries. Her internal organs and unborn baby were exposed. Unfortunately, she died on the spot. She had gone to the market to sell goods when the accident occurred. The driver, responsible for her death, fled the scene. I hold him accountable and leave his actions to God.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p>My late daughter’s three young children are still in school, and their future is uncertain. As their grandmother, I’m struggling to care for them due to my poor health and financial difficulties. I’m humbly appealing to kind-hearted individuals and charitable organizations for support to help raise these children.</p></blockquote>

<p>The family of the late Susanna are calling for justice for their deceased loved one to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.</p>

<p>As of now, the driver and his mate are reportedly on the run.</p>

30-year-old pregnant mother killed by articulated truck, family seeks justice

<p>Ghanaian gospel singer <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/entertainment/celebrities/empress-gifty-opens-up-about-hopeson-adoryes-political-fallout-and-familys-resilience-2024121214032274123">Empress Gifty</a> has disclosed that she will be soon launching a collaborative album with singer Kuami Eugene.</p>

<p>According to the gospel artiste, the album would be expected to drop by October this year, the first time she would collaborate with <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/entertainment/do-not-go-and-steal-someones-song-dopenation-hits-back-at-kuami-eugene-2025013010493126583">Kuami Eugene.</a></p>

<p>Retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe has passed on at age 74. The unfortunate demise occurred on Saturday April 5, after a short undisclosed illness.</p>

<p>Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe was a prominent figure in the Ghanaian legal landscape, serving extensively as both a barrister and a judge.</p>

<h2>Who is Justice Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe?</h2>

<p>Nasiru Gbadegbe was born on December 8, 1950, in the Volta Region of Ghana. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana in 1973 and subsequently obtained his Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law in 1975.​</p>

<p>Gbadegbe's judicial career commenced in 1989 when he was appointed as a Justice of the High Court, a position he held for ten years. In 1999, he was elevated to the Court of Appeal, serving diligently until 2009. His exemplary service led to his appointment to the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2009 by President John Evans Atta Mills. He served on the apex court for 11 years, retiring in December 2020 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. ​</p>

<p>Throughout his 31-year tenure in the judiciary, Justice Gbadegbe was renowned for his unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law. His colleagues and legal practitioners lauded him as an asset to the justice delivery system, with Chief Justice Anin Yeboah describing him as &quot;an asset and an unquenchable fire.&quot; ​</p>

<p>Justice Gbadegbe's dedication was evident during his valedictory judgment in December 2020, where he became emotional, reflecting on his extensive service and the bonds formed within the judiciary. ​</p>

Retired Justice Nasiru Gbadegbe passes at 74

<p>South Korean actor O Yeong-su, best known for his role as Player 001 in Netflix’s hit series <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/entertainment/movies/rejection-persistence-the-intriguing-story-behind-squid-game-the-dollar900m-earning-series-2025011018271304422">Squid Game,</a> has been sentenced to one year in prison following his conviction for indecent assault.</p>

<p>The 80-year-old veteran actor had earlier received an eight-month sentence with a two-year probation. However, a recent court ruling overturned that decision, imposing a one-year custodial sentence instead.</p>

<p>At a hearing held on Thursday, April 3, prosecutors described the actor as a seasoned figure in South Korea’s theatre scene, alleging that<a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/sports/ex-barcelona-star-dani-alves-cleared-of-rape-charges-after-spending-time-in-prison-2025032812513479002"> he sexually harassed</a> a vulnerable junior colleague.</p>

<p>Local media reported that the victim lived in fear after the incidents, both in her personal and professional life. Prosecutors criticised O’s response to the allegations, claiming he caused further harm by saying, “I did it with the heart of a father,” rather than offering a sincere apology.</p>

<p>Despite maintaining his innocence, O addressed the court with remorse:</p>

<p>According to sources, the incident occurred when a group of youth from Ntonso travelled to Wiamoase to attend a funeral on Friday. <p>In the chaos that followed, two women were reportedly shot — an action that enraged the youth of Wiamoase. Retaliation came swiftly and brutally.</p>

<p>Arming themselves with machetes and other weapons, the Wiamoase youth launched an attack on the Ntonso group, resulting in the deaths of four young men. All the deceased are believed to be from Ntonso.</p>

<p>Minister of Government Communications,<a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/mahama-is-not-chasing-akufo-addos-travel-bills-felix-kwakye-2025032912514117775"> Felix Kwakye Ofosu</a> has debunked allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft that recently landed at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).</p>

<p>His response comes after the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, insisted the planes were linked to illicit cargo, including drugs and cash.</p>

<p>In a Facebook post on Sunday, April 6, Kwakye Ofosu clarified that one of the aircraft, operated by Air Med, landed at KIA due to technical issues involving damaged tyres on its landing gear.</p>

<p>Police in the Ashanti Region have launched a full-scale investigation following a shooting incident at the Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi on Friday, April 4.</p>

<p>According to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Police Command, a 16-year-old second-year student brought a locally manufactured pistol to school and accidentally discharged it while attempting to show it off to a classmate. The firearm, loaded with one BB ammunition, went off around midday, injuring another student in the process.</p>

<p>The injured student, identified as Penamang was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where they received treatment. Authorities confirmed the victim is now in stable condition.</p>

<p>The suspect, whose identity is officially being withheld due to his age, has been arrested. Police recovered an empty cartridge from the scene and have begun processing it as evidence.</p>

<p>Further investigations revealed that the student took the weapon from his father's bedroom without permission. Law enforcement officials are currently working to track down the father to assist with ongoing inquiries.</p>

<p>In a press statement issued on April 5, 2025, Deputy Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, confirmed the incident and reassured the public that the case is being handled with the utmost seriousness.</p>

<p>The development has sparked renewed concerns about firearm access among juveniles and school safety in Ghana. Authorities are urging parents to be more vigilant and keep dangerous weapons out of reach.</p>

<p>The school is yet to officially comment on the incident, but police presence on campus has been heightened as investigations continue.</p>

<p>Trump’s new extension comes after a near-finalised deal reportedly fell apart. <p>Despite setbacks, interest in TikTok remains high. Amazon is reportedly among last-minute bidders, alongside billionaire Frank McCourt, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and firms like Microsoft, Blackstone, and Andreessen Horowitz.</p>

<p>Trump said his team is working with four groups interested in acquiring TikTok, with Vice President JD Vance leading efforts. He also hinted at a possible trade-off—China’s approval of the TikTok sale in return for US tariff relief.</p>

<p>A fuel tank driver has been sighted attacking a man with a machete for sleeping in his truck's tank cage.</p>

<p>In a video on social media, the truck driver was holding the machete and aggressively flunging it towards the man, suspected to be homeless.</p>

<p>Despite pleas from onlookers to <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/kasoa-3-injured-one-arrested-after-violent-clash-during-eid-ul-fitr-carnival-2025040109015604135">stop being violent</a> towards the man, the truck driver kept on attacking, further hurling insults at him.</p>

<p>Eventually, the man residing in the truck’s tank cage was pulled out in an effort to save him from the <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/decomposing-body-of-young-woman-found-in-septic-tank-at-sunyani-magazine-2025030113154710882">tank driver’s rage</a>. No update or investigation on the situation has been provided.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, netizens are reacting with concerns over the truck’s driver violent behaviour. The Ghana Police Service's X account was tagged multiple times in order to get attention on the situation. Updates on the event are yet to be released.</p>

<h2>What charges could the truck driver face if arrested?</h2>

<p>While it is not known whether the victim in this case sustained injury, the truck driver could face charges of assault with a dangerous weapon (the machete) if arrested. Should the truck driver be proven guilty, he would be sentenced for a duration of 2 to 5 years, otherwise a fine charge with a large sum of money.</p>

<p>Ghanaian actress and movie producer <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/entertainment/celebrities/i-emptied-my-account-sold-my-house-to-start-my-school-yvonne-nelson-2024092707502079384">Yvonne Nelson </a>has revealed that her boldness and desire to speak up against injustice in the movie industry led to a targeted attempt to sabotage her career by the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG).</p>

<p>Speaking on Joy News' The Career Trail show, the actress disclosed that she was banned by the association simply for being vocal about issues affecting the industry, especially because she was a woman.</p>

<p>Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has cautioned that Assin South MP, <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/who-do-you-think-you-are-dafeamekpor-and-fordjour-clash-on-live-tv-watch-2025040411553962783">Rev. John Ntim Fordjour </a>will be arrested if he fails to honour an invitation from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over allegations of suspicious flights in Ghana.</p>

<p>Kwakye Ofosu dismissed Fordjour’s claim that he was never invited, requesting for the presentation of his allegations.</p>

<blockquote><p>If he says he was not invited, it is not true. The NIB has written to the Speaker and asked for his release for investigation. He will definitely go. If he doesn’t, they will arrest him, and when he does, he should present the stories he is telling.</p></blockquote>

<p>He explained that the NIB’s invitation was sent through Fordjour’s leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who initially agreed to facilitate his colleague’s appearance but later claimed that Fordjour had made the comments in his capacity as a Ranking Member on Parliament’s Interior and Defence Committee.</p>

<p>Despite that, the NIB has officially requested the MP’s presence for investigations into his claims about two aircraft allegedly transporting drugs and money into the country.</p>

Ntim Fordjour in order to properly investigate the matter after the allegations were made.</p>

<p>Kwakye Ofosu strongly criticised the <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/i-am-not-scared-of-anyone-ntim-fordjour-slams-mahama-over-directive-to-nib-2025040214152915104">Assin South MP </a>for making what he described as unsubstantiated and juvenile claims. He also accused Fordjour of dragging Parliament into baseless political propaganda.</p>

<p>According to sources within the school, the chaos unfolded during break time when a form two student, Bernard Amoabeng, brought a firearm to school. Eyewitnesses say the gun became a topic of heated debate among a group of students, with some doubting whether it was real—or functional.</p>

<p>In a reckless attempt to prove a point, Amoabeng allegedly pulled the trigger, injuring two students in the process.</p>

<p>One of the victims, identified as Penamang, sustained a critical gunshot wound to the forehead. She was rushed to the Kwadaso Hospital but had to be referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to the severity of her condition.</p>

Mahama orders NIB, CID, NACOC to probe Minority’s drug, money laundering claims

<p><a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/the-misinformation-regarding-so-called-ban-on-police-public-relations-unit-richmond-asideu-writes-2025032414272908461">The Ghana Police Service </a>(GPS), through the Western Central Regional Police Command has announced its arrest of eleven suspected miners involved in galamsey in the Western Region.</p>

<p>In a statement on X, the GPS revealed that the eleven suspects were reportedly practising their illegal activities along the Bonsa river bank in the Western Region. The suspects, comprising seven (7) Ghanaians and four (4) Chinese, were arrested on 31st March 2025 through sustained intelligence-led operations against illegal mining activities.</p>

<p>It was reported that five of the suspects, Wei Qinwei, Yao Yongji, Nsoh Oto Agologo, Kwadwo George Sergio, Emmanuel Van Atta, were arrested at a site in Bonsa. The remaining 6 suspects, Nuang Shichuan, Huang Xinbao, Douglas Ayambilla, Elvis Aborta, Michael Tettey Komlorm and Ibrahim Dauda were arrested at Wassa Agona.</p>

11 arrested for galamsey activities in Western Region

<p>American rapper, <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/entertainment/celebrities/ja-rule-heads-to-ghana-for-the-construction-of-school-building-2024072417042102604">Ja Rule</a> has officially commissioned a six-unit classroom block in Nuaso, Eastern Region to mark the successful completion of his philanthropic project in the area.</p>

<p>The classroom block, which was an additional facility for the St. John’s Anglican Basic School in Nuaso was a collaborative project between the rapper and an international non-profit Pencils of Promise (PoP), to help improve educational facilities in Ghanaian schools.</p>

<p>The project saw its completion today, following its initial construction almost a year ago.</p>
