He is of the view that when actors get to certain pedestals, they turn death ears to announcements of movie auditions which does not auger well for the movie industry.

“Just hold an audition and see if a known face will be present. It will be new faces. Let these new faces gain popularity, call for auditioning and see if they will show up,” he said on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Wednesday.
He will however not blame the actors entirely. According to Bandex, most of the scripts lack uniqueness as storylines are recycled. He believes if actors find out that the movie they are auditioning for does not have an original script, they will not be enthused to go for auditions.
“I will not blame the actors alone. If you recycle the same story and call for auditioning, they will not show up because they have featured in a similar movie; they have played the same role,” he said.
Bandex highlighted the purpose of auditions saying, it helps in identifying talents and to get who fits which role better. He also commended the cast director of ‘Beasts of No Nation’ for being able to select Abraham Attah to play the role of Agu after the audition.
“Auditions are held for a perfect cast. Whoever auditioned and chose Abraham Attah did well… Nobody will audition without identifying any talent,” he noted.
Abraham Atta, who reportedly was assisting his mother by selling on the street with no acting background, shot to fame after getting a role in ‘Beasts of No Nation’, a movie shot in Ghana by Netflix.
Attah, 15, has won several awards with the role he played.
These includeBlack Film Critics Circle’s Rising Star Award, Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival, Best Actor at Spirit Awards, Best Actor in Lead Role and Discovery of the Year at Ghana Movie Awards 2015.
